ALL WE NEED TO KNOW IN PRAYER/ MAKING PRAYER A LIFESTYLE!

One of the most influential Evangelists of our Times Billy Graham once said that prayer is our only hope - the Hope of our nation. He even declared that a nation that is lack of prayer will someday fallaway.

So ,that’s how prayer really important is. Prayer can be commonly defined as our communication and request to God. But prayer is also more than that. Prayer is actually being in the presence of the Living God, being in his fortress and shelter as what King David says - Prayer is Protection.

In the Challenges we face right now especially in this current pandemic, Corona Virus. We don’t only need to have our prayers answered but also to be in the presence of our Living God - who is our Protector.

Prayer is oftentimes misunderstood, because many people when they pray and have their prayers answered the next day they got shocked. Its like they prayed only for a luck. And thats not what God Commanded us in Mark 11:24 that "Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. God just want us to think by faith that our prayers are already answerd." we must be confident when we pray.

Let’s learn from the Prayer of King David in
"Psalms 5:3 In the morning, O LORD, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait in expectation.
That we should expect something to God when we pray, especially when it is align to His Good will, it will surely be aswered. And as what in the book of 1John 5:14 says That "This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us."

And as what it says God hears us, but in case of answering well, no one knows when God would answer but whats for sure is that He aswers, sometimes Yes, No, or enen Wait! Because God is more fucos on building our characters than the thing He can give to us. But the point is that God aswers us in our prayers.

Have you experience that times when you dont feel like praying?

Well that only is a sign that you need to pray during that times because it only means that we are not anymore in the presence of God and its a terrible feelimg since we said it. The moment we feel that we don’t feel like praying anymore is the moment we need most to wrestle all the more to pray.

How then We should be Praying?

We must pray only in the Holy Spirit because He is the only One who is faithful and He knows the mind of God - the mind of Christ. No flesh is ever faithful without the Holy Spirit for the Flesh is weak. Thats why the Word of God commanded us to pray in the Holy Spirit. Ephesians 6:18

Have you ever amaze from the lives of the Apostles? Especially in their faith, Do you want to know their secret?

If there is one thing the Apostles ever asked and requested Jesus a teaching or anadvice it is no other than how’s His "Prayer", not healing the sick, casting out demons, and not even raising the dead. Its only prayer they asked. That’s why we have the Lord’s prayer.

In this article well going to learn all we need to know in Prayer. And for the sake of this article we'll only fucos 3 Important Points we'll learn in the area of prayer.

The following would be our main texts in this Topic:

Daniel 6:10
Now when Daniel learned that the decree had been published, he went home to his upstairs room where the windows opened toward Jerusalem. Three times a day he got down on his knees and prayed, giving thanks to his God, just as he had done before.

Luke18:1
Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up.

2Timothy 1:3
I thank God, whom I serve, as my forefathers did, with a clear conscience, as night and day I constantly remember you in my prayers.

Colosians 4:12
Epaphras, who is one of you and a servant of Christ Jesus, sends greetings. He is always wrestling in prayer for you, that you may stand firm in all the will of God, mature and fully assured.

POINTS:

1. Prayer is a Command from God - Luke 18:1

Although oftentimes we only pray as when we want and as we wish. But it is not a suggestion from God it is a Command, an authoritative statement. And there’s no where for us not to obey it.

But let us not do it because we are commanded. We must do it as an overflow of our love to God, a hunger of our soul, and a thirst that we want to be with Him not just when we want something or when we are commanded.

Let's make our prayer out of Love, or else we are just like a resounding and annoying symbals to God.

2. Make Time to Pray / Make Room for Prayer Personally/ Make Prayer Personal- Dan 6:10

This second point somehow corelates to the first one, but i want to have an emphasis to this.

This has something to do with how disciplined we are as as person, since God wants us not to be timid. Oftentimes we pray only when we have the luxury of time or when we have the opportunity. But that’s not what Daniel in the Old Testament modeled us, because despite that he is so busy that time being the Kingdom’s Administrator, He still managed to have time to pray ]n his room. He is still making a room for him to communicate to God. How can we not pray now more when the Holy Spirit is on us unlike during the times of Daniel when the Holy Spirit didn’t dwell yet in that time. Isn’t that ashame for us now New Testament Believers? If that’s the case possibly the Holy Spirit is not on us or we still keep on abusing Him.

Let's not wait for an opportunity to pray, let's make a room for it!

3. Choose to have a Thankful Heart - 2Tim 1:3

Somehow this last just correlates to the former ones but this is an important one. How many times we know that God wants us to have a thankful heart. I believe having a thankful heart affects how we pray. Since prayer is also our worship to God.

Im Hebrews 12:28, it says that ... "let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe,

Yes, your right! thankfulness is a worship count to our Living God. So be thankful in all circumstances. Thats how should our heart be in prayer.

As to sum it up prayer is like accessing and summoning the power of God —

that is intented for his Sons and Daughters, who are saved by Jesus Christ. And we need the Holy Spirit when we pray. Prayer is a command by God for his servants. And we must not take that command for granted, and let’s not be legalistic in obeying it. It must be out of love and devotion. Lastly, lets have a thankful heart when we pray whatever happens, whether God answers Yes, No, or wait. The point is God answers your prayers.

So, all in all i hope that i have give you a helping biblical advice, especially if you have confusions in your prayer. Kindly share this post to someone you love and support me in this website for more upcoming articles about life and faith.

Thank you and God bless!
